PlayStation
How it works
Mojang and Microsoft officially only allow for specific minigame servers to be connected to from consoles. To get around this we have to trick the consoles into connecting to an intermediate service that will redirect you to a server of your choice, or if you wish one of those existing servers. This is done by making a simple network configuration change on your console.
Whilst the configuration itself is minimal and low risk, we have to warn you that you will be directing your console's DNS requests (a service which tells you what IP address connects to what address) to a 3rd party other than your usual ISP. London Gaymers has no control over or responsibility for this 3rd party so we cannot guarantee they won't take a look to see what addresses you're requesting, or direct you somewhere totally different.
The configuration information is provided only to provide a consistent source to those who were requesting it and is provided without guarantee or warranty or support.
Setting up your console
Getting started
Visit your Device Settings
Select Network
Select Set Up Internet Connection
You'll then be asked if you want to use a cable or Wi-Fi, make the selection you want.
Custom setup
When prompted, select Custom
If you selected Wi-Fi you will be asked to pick a network and login to it here
When asked about IP Address Settings, unless you know you want a manual or static address, you probably want Automatic
When asked about DHCP Host Name, again unless you know you need this, select Do Not Specify
DNS Settings
When prompted for DNS Settings, this is where you select Manual
Select Primary DNS and enter 173.82.100.84
This DNS server is operated by jdextraze, a member of the Bedrock community. See the note above regarding privacy.
Complete Console Config
As with the other settings, unless you know different select Automatic under MTU settings.
You probably don't use a Proxy Server from your home network, but if you're in university halls you may need to enter information in Proxy Server. Unless you know otherwise select Do Not Use.
You will then be prompted to Test Internet Connection to finish the steps.
🛈 You may need to restart your console if you have played the game recently.
In Game
Join a multiplayer server like normal?
In game, once logged in to your Microsoft Account, select Play
Scroll over to the Servers tab
Here you will see many of the minigame and pay to win servers you'd expect, but you should see that some of them have a message of
Join To Open Server ListChose one of these servers and select Join Server
🛈 If you wanted to actually play on one of these servers, don't fret! You will be able to select one in the next screen.
Add LGMC to the list
Once you are connected, you will see a menu popup.
Select Connect to a Server
Enter the server address play.mc.londongaymers.co.uk
Leave the port as 19132
Enter a nice name like LGMC, or London Gaymers
We'd recommend selecting Add Server to List
Select Connect and you will be joined to the server!
If prompted to download a resource pack, accept - this provides better integration with the server.
🛈 You will also see the same server list from before in this menu, so you can use this menu if you wanted to connect to one of those servers.
Do I have to do all that again?
If you selected Add Server to List in the last screen, NOPE!
The next time you join the list, the server will be listed at the top and you can just select that!
